As the Senior Accountant at Senestia, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the accounting operations for our growing Health Technology company. You will be instrumental in shaping our financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the financial health of the company and supporting Senestia's growth and operational objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring they adhere to accounting standards and provide accurate insights into the company's financial health.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Led the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the timely completion of financial statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Work with department heads to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and forecasts, offering insights to support Senestia's growth and operational planning.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and streamline the accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure efficient cash flow management in a startup environment.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
  • Audit Preparation and Support: Prepare for internal and external audits by ensuring all financial records are accurate and readily available, helping to establish reliable financial processes in a startup context.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations to enhance efficiency and scalability, adapting to the dynamic nature of a startup.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost-saving or revenue enhancement, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the company, including Operations, HR, and Sales, to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience in a related background, experience in the healthcare technology or software industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems in a startup setting is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Experience with financial operations in the healthcare industry, including familiarity with industry-specific regulations.
